I led a day long workshop about drawing from birth experiences for Nativity Hub, Leeds, a health and wellbeing project set up by independent midwife Claire Harbottle.

I delivered a talk about the the visual representation of pregnancy and birth and worked with participants making a series of drawings, paintings and multi media art works to create visual stories and narratives about birth.

The focus of this workshop was visualising birth by drawing on the participants individual and collective memories and experience of birthing. The workshop will also utilise examples from the representation of birth in art history, culture and contemporary art. Sharing of experience was encouraged by using the process of art making and its outcomes as a catalyst for discussion.
